How to Enjoy Electronic Poker

Electronic Poker is a popular game that usually will be gambled on in casinos around the world, or alternatively at home on your home computer, through a web account. The rules are absolutely simple and involve the player trying to get the best mixture of cards achievable in order to come away with money. In this respect it is much the same as a regular game of poker, minus the involvement with competing players. Of course, tactics employed during a physical game of poker, like bluffing, will be useless here.

The game of Video Poker begins when the enthusiast puts credits (whether it is tokens, credit slips or cash) into the video poker machine and presses the deal button. A hand of five cards will then be electronically ‘given out’ on the video screen.

The Electronic Poker machine also has hold buttons, and bettors will need to now decide which cards to hold and which to discard. For the cards the player wishes to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any amount of cards they wish, whether it is all or none.

After the player has chosen which cards she wishes to retain, the player will then press ‘draw’, at which point any fresh cards are needed they will be handed out. The hand is now finished, with the Video Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands shown on the payment schedule.

Generally, the minimum winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money growing for each better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, moving on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It definitely goes without saying that the payment schedule can vary from machine to machine, so that knowledgeable gamblers are able to choose the most profitable machine each instance.

As soon as the initial round has finished, the player can either choose to stay on in an attempt to increase their winnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any money that has been won. Additionally, a few versions of the game give the enthusiast a chance to double their winnings, in which instance a further game is played. There are also variations among individual games, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other differing elements to increase playability.
