Video Poker is a favored game that can be gambled on in casinos all over the world, or in your house on your PC, through an Internet account. The rules are very straightforward and involve the player trying to achieve the greatest combination of cards possible in order to win cash. In this respect it’s very similar as a regular game of poker, without the interaction with competing players. Of course, tactics employed during a physical game of poker, like tricking, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.
The game of Video Poker begins when the enthusiast puts credits (whether it is tokens, tickets or cash) into the machine and pushes the deal button. A five card hand will be "distributed" on the screen.
The Video Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and players will need to now choose which cards to keep and which to discard. For the cards the bettor would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can choose to keep any amount of cards they want, from all to none.
After the player has selected which cards he or she would like to retain, they should press ‘deal’, at which point any fresh cards will be needed they will be given out. The round is now finished, with the Electronic Poker machine analyzing the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands printed on the pay out schedule.
Normally, the minimum winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money increasing for each and every better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It goes without saying that the payout schedule can vary from machine to machine, so that skillful enthusiasts are agile enough to choose the most beneficial ones each instance.
Once the initial round has completed, the player can either decide to stay on in an attempt to maximize their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any money that they may have won. Further, a few styles of the game give the bettor a chance to double their profits, in which case a further round is played. There are also differences among individual games, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other differing aspects to increase playability.
