Electronic Poker is a favored game that can be played in casinos across the globe, or alternatively at your house on your computer, through a net account. The game rules are very straightforward and involve the player trying to achieve the highest combination of cards as you can in order to acquire money. In this respect it is very similar as a classic game of poker, without the involvement with any other players. Of course, methods employed during a real-life game of poker, such as tricking, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.
The game of Electronic Poker starts when the gambler inserts credits (either tokens, tickets or cash) into the machine and pushes the play button. A hand of 5 cards will then be "given out" on the screen.
The Electronic Poker machine also has hold buttons, and players should now pick which cards to hold and which to discard. For the cards the player wishes to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they want, from all to none.
After the bettor has selected which cards he or she wishes to keep, the player will then press ‘draw’, which will mean that any fresh cards are given out if desired. The game is now finished, with the Electronic Poker machine scanning the cards to see if it matches any of the winning hands listed in the payout schedule.
Generally, the minimum winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money growing for each and every better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, moving on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It is obvious that the payout schedule can change from game to game, so that experienced enthusiasts are able to select the most profitable game each and every time.
Once the initial round has finished, the player can either decide to stay on in an attempt to maximize their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any credits that might been won. Further, a few versions of the game allow the bettor a chance to double their winnings, in which instance a further hand is played. There are also differences between specific games, with some decks of cards including wild cards and other varying characteristics to enhance playability.
