Video Poker is a favored game that can be bet on in casinos across the world, or in your house on your PC, through a web account. The game rules are very straightforward and consist of the player trying to get the highest mixture of cards as you can in order to come away with cash. On this account it is much the same as a regular game of poker, minus the involvement with competing players. Of course, methods used in a physical game of poker, like tricking, will be useless here.
The game of Video Poker starts when the gambler inserts credits (whether it’s tokens, tickets or cash) into the video poker machine and presses the draw button. A hand of five cards will be electronically ‘handed out’ on the screen.
The Video Poker game also has hold buttons, and gamblers should now decide which cards to keep and which to throw away. For the cards the player would like to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can choose to keep any amount of cards they want, whether it’s all or none.
After the bettor has decided on which cards he wishes to retain, they should press ‘draw’, at which point any fresh cards will be needed they will be given out. The round is now completed, with the Electronic Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands printed on the pay out schedule.
Typically, the lowest winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money increasing for each better hand. A common list of winning hands begins with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It is obvious that the payout schedule can range from machine to machine, so that knowledgeable gamblers are able to choose the most money-making machine each instance.
Once the first round has played out, the player can either choose to continue on in an attempt to maximize their earnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any money that they may have won. Additionally, some styles of the game allow the player a chance to increase their wins, in which situation another game is played. There are also differences among specific games, with some decks of cards including wild cards and other differing elements to enhance playability.
