Video Poker is a favored game that can be wagered on in casinos around the world, or alternatively at your house on your computer, through a web account. The rules are very straightforward and consist of the player trying to achieve the greatest combination of cards as you can in order to come away with cash. In this respect it’s much the same as a normal game of poker, without the line of contact with other players. Of course, methods employed during a physical game of poker, like bluffing, will be useless in Video Poker.
The game of Electronic Poker starts when the bettor inserts credits (whether it’s tokens, tickets or cash) into the video poker machine and pushes the play button. A 5 card hand will be electronically ‘distributed’ on the screen.
The Video Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and players will need to now choose which cards to keep and which to discard. For the cards the gambler would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any amount of cards they wish, from all to none.
After the bettor has chosen which cards he or she wishes to keep, they should press ‘deal’, which will mean that any fresh cards are needed they will be handed out. The game is now completed, with the Electronic Poker machine analyzing the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands printed on the payment schedule.
Generally, the lowest winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money increasing for each better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It is obvious that the payout schedule can range from game to game, so that discerning bettors are able to pick the most money-making ones each time.
As soon as the first round has played out, the player can either choose to continue on in an attempt to increase their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any money that has been won. Further, some versions of the game allow the bettor an opportunity to double their wins, in which instance a further round is played. There are also differences between specific machines, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other varying aspects to increase playability.
